Can Labels

Many products can be stored in a can, most commonly cider and beer and in the ever growing market for craft beer. But in more recent times juices and water is also becoming more popular in cans as well as some wines for picnics or festivals, this is largely due to its eco-friendly credentials. It is easily recycled and only takes 60 days for an aluminium can to be recycled, remanufactured and back into retail!

There isn’t much of a difference between bottle and can labels. Some cans are printed without have a printed label on them, this is called screen printing and is expensive on shorter runs. A custom can label will often cover the whole of the main cylinder surface of the can, allowing you to express the exotic flavours with the most creative artwork to entice your thirsty customers.

Labelling Materials for Can Products

Waterproof Plastic Labels

Waterproof polypropylene labels are ideal for can products because they are resistant to moisture, chemicals, and oils. This means that the label won’t smudge or peel off, even when the can is exposed to wet or humid conditions. Additionally, polypropylene labels are durable and can withstand the handling and storage conditions that canned products are often subjected to. This makes them a reliable choice for labeling canned goods, ensuring that the label remains legible and intact throughout the product’s lifespan.

For extra water resistance, we recommend a gloss laminate over the top to ensure that the print is as protected as the label.

Semi-Gloss Paper Labels

Semi-gloss paper labels are an excellent option for canned products due to their affordability, printability, and aesthetic appeal. The semi-gloss finish provides a subtle shine that enhances the visual appeal of the label, making it stand out on the shelves. Furthermore, paper labels are printable using a wide range of printing techniques, including inkjet and laser printers. This allows for a high degree of customisation, enabling manufacturers to create labels with unique designs and branding elements.

A gloss varnish and gloss laminate are excellent options for lcan labels due to their ability to provide an extra layer of protection and enhance the label’s visual appeal. The gloss varnish provides a high level of glossiness, creating a luxurious and shiny finish that adds to the product’s premium look. Similarly, a gloss laminate provides a high level of glossiness, but it is thicker and more durable than a gloss varnish, making it a suitable option for products that require more protection.

Metallic Plastic Labels

Metallic plastic labels are a great option for canned products because they offer a unique and eye-catching appearance that can help products stand out on the shelves. The metallic finish of the label adds a premium look and feel to the product, making it appear more upscale and desirable to consumers. Additionally, plastic labels are waterproof and durable, ensuring that the label remains intact even when the product is exposed to moisture or rough handling.

Alternatively, if waterproof durability isn’t an essential part of your product. We also supply metallic paper labels which may be a suitable preference for your needs.
