Useful Information

A whiskey label must include certain key information to comply with regulations and provide consumers with accurate details about the product. While specific requirements may vary depending on the country and jurisdiction, here are the typical elements that need to go on a whiskey label:

Product Name: The name of the whiskey, often indicating the type (e.g., Single Malt, Bourbon, Rye) and the brand name.

Alcohol Content: The alcohol by volume (ABV) percentage of the whiskey.

Net Content: The volume of the liquid in the bottle (e.g., 750ml).

Producer/Distillery Information: The name and address of the company that produces or bottles the whiskey.

Country of Origin: The country where the whiskey is distilled or produced.

Age Statement: If applicable, the age of the whiskey, indicating how long it has been aged in barrels.

Bottler’s Statement: If the whiskey is bottled by a different company than the producer, this information may be required.

Health Warnings: Depending on regulations, health-related warnings such as “Drink Responsibly” or age restrictions might be required.

Government Warning: In some regions, a government-mandated warning about the dangers of alcohol consumption might be necessary.

Certifications: If the whiskey is certified organic, kosher, or holds any other certifications, these might be indicated.

Batch or Lot Number: Particularly for small-batch or limited edition whiskeys, a unique batch or lot number might be included.

Ingredients: The ingredients used in the production of the whiskey, typically mentioning the grains used.

NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION: In some regions, nutritional information (calories, carbohydrates, etc.) might be required.

Producer’s Logo or Emblem: A distinctive logo or emblem representing the producer.

Where can you put a Whiskey Label on a bottle?

Front Label –  The front label is the most prominent and essential part of the bottle. It usually includes the brand name, product name, and key design elements. This label catches the customer’s attention and conveys important information about the whiskey.

Back Label – The back label often provides additional details such as tasting notes, production methods, and the story behind the whiskey. It’s a space to provide more in-depth information for customers interested in learning more about the product.

Neck Label – The neck of the bottle is a unique and attention-grabbing space. A neck label can include the brand logo, a tagline, or other decorative elements.

Shoulder Label –  Some bottles have a slightly elevated “shoulder” area between the neck and the main body. This can be another space for a smaller label with additional branding or design elements.

Body Label –  The main body of the bottle provides a larger canvas for labels. This is where you can showcase the whiskey’s branding, age statement, and other essential details.

Cap or Seal: In some cases, a label or seal can be placed over the cap to add an extra layer of branding or tamper-evident protection.

Labelling Materials for Whiskey Bottles

Waterproof Plastic Labels

Waterproof plastic roll labels are the ideal choice for whiskey bottles due to their perfect fusion of durability and practicality. With their waterproof properties, these labels are designed to withstand the challenges of humid environments, condensation, and potential spills, which are prevalent in bars, homes, and storage. The plastic material ensures that the labels remain intact and legible even in damp conditions, preserving the brand’s image and product information.

Semi-Gloss Paper Labels

Semi-gloss paper roll labels stand as the ideal choice for whiskey bottles due to their seamless balance of aesthetic refinement and practical utility. The subtle yet visually appealing sheen of the semi-gloss finish complements the sophistication of whiskey, enhancing its shelf presence and visual appeal. These labels’ durability and resistance to moderate moisture levels make them a superb fit for the diverse settings whiskey bottles may encounter.

Metallic Plastic Labels

Metallic plastic roll labels offer an ideal choice for whiskey bottles, seamlessly blending opulence with durability. The metallic finish imparts a touch of luxury that harmonizes perfectly with the refined image of whiskey, while the sturdy plastic material ensures the labels can withstand moisture and handling challenges, common in bars and storage environments. These labels catch and reflect light, accentuating intricate design elements and elevating shelf visibility, while also upholding the brand’s integrity and product information over time.
